- An interesting article surfaced over the weekend that highlighted some of the top Fund Managers currency strategy for the year, and most of them included shorting the greenback.
Recap
The big mover this morning was the AUDUSD, we have event risk in the form of an RBA rate decision early tomorrow morning, but a terrible retail sales data release has seen the pair lose a lot of ground already this morning. The risk of the meeting tomorrow may start favouring something a little bit more dovish. I will sit this pair out today in the hope that the AUD trades a little lower this week, possibly as low as 0.7500, and then find some opportunity later in the week.
Over the weekend, we highlighted 111.20 as a massive pivotal level in the USDJPY. The JPY found some support this morning and with it a nice move. I would look at sellers coming in at 111.60 – 111.78 and so this will form the first resistance.
On the surface it would seem as though the EURUSD could be poised for a retracement, after such a big move last week it certainly would make sense. The level I will be watching this morning is 1.0680 – 1.0700, this proved to be some major resistance last week and I will want to see price break above that level before I get interested.
It looks like it could be a tricky day today and so I am going to be a little more cautious than normal, it does seem to me as though we could see some opportunity created a little later in the week though.
